About Us

DeepRapid Design Studio, LLC is an outgrowth of Greenbeard Inc., an early-stage startup located in Dallas, TX that is the result of over 7 years of research and experimentation. In developing Greenbeard.com, we've had to deal with a tremendous number of problems -- business problems and technical problems. To solve them, we've had to draw on skills from people with many different specialties.

DeepRapid is our effort to offer to our clients many of the things we've learned over the years about UI/UX, software architecture, server administration, online marketing, and many other areas. We look forward to exceeding your expectations.

Leroy Ware

Leroy Ware has a BA in Mathematics (3.9 GPA) and a wealth of experience in PHP, MySQL, APIs, and the web in general. He has a solid computer science foundation. He was closely mentored for 4 years by a Business Hall-of-Famer and CEO/founder of one of the world's largest companies. Leroy is an avid reader who spent years devouring books about history, religion, physics, biology, psychology, philosophy, and many other subjects.

EDUCATION

BA in Mathematics (3.9 GPA). Computer science minor. Thomas Edison State College, Trenton, NJ.

Broad computer science foundation. Familiar with the material covered in the following undergraduate CS courses: C++ Programming, Data Structures, Algorithm Analysis/Design, Database Principles, Operating Systems, Software Engineering, Programming Languages, Computer Organization/Design, Database System Implementation, Information Retrieval, Computer Architecture, Parallel Computer Architecture, Computer Networks, Data Mining, Theory of Computation, Artificial Intelligence.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Front-End Development/UI Engineering. Strong HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, UI/UX. Extensive experience designing user interfaces. Main strength is overall design/architecture and in development/programming. Adept at gaining a deep understanding of the business that will be supported by the software and designing the UI and other architecture accordingly. Familiar with template design and templating engines, including Smarty, Joomla & WordPress template design, Magento themes.

PHP Programming. Elite PHP/MySQL programming skills. Extensive experience developing large database-driven websites that interface with outside APIs. Comfortable with OOP and non-OOP approaches or working within existing frameworks. Solid understanding of database design principles. Very strong SQL and XML.

LAMP Administration & Cloud Computing. Currently operate cloud instances with Rackspace Cloud and EC2. Also operate a mail relay server co-located at a data center here in Dallas through which we handle our high-volume email delivery. Experience with Linux, Apache, CPanel/WHM, Webmin, and many other aspects of administering web servers.

Project Management/Customer Relations. Experience with Saleforce.com, SugarCRM, Assembla, Basecamp, SVN; client relations, project management, talent acquisition. Familiar with writing Statements of Work, creating project plans, requirements documents, and maintaining rapport with a client throughout the project life cycle. Very strong communicator, talent recruiter, and team-builder.

Open-Source and Web APIs. REST, SOAP, JSON, OAuth 1.0 and 2.0, OpenID and other web services protocols. Experience with voice APIs, geocoding APIs, payment gateways, Facebook Graph API, LinkedIn API, Twitter API and with Google's API. Installed, configured, and deployed a very large number of open-source solutions, including WordPress, Joomla, Magento, SugarCRM, phpBB, Feed on Feeds, and a number of others.

Internet Marketing. Extensive knowledge of online advertising. PPC, SEO, affiliate systems, viral marketing, online reputation monitoring, social apps and social APIs. Strong knowledge of high-volume email marketing, including feedback loops, blacklist monitoring, relay servers, programming to track opens, clicks, bounces, and a number of other statistics. Familiar with Piwik and Google Analytics, AdSense, Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing.

e-Commerce. Experience creating and deploying end-to-end e-commerce solutions. Shopping carts, payment gateway integration, SSL, merchant accounts. Magento, Zen Cart, osCommerce.

Jerry Crabb

Jerry Crabb brings over 10 years of experience managing both development and support teams. He was a co-founder, Sr. Admin and Network Engineer of dating website MatchMaker.com, until its sale to Lycos in 2000 for $45 million. Jerry went on to co-found an incubator and software company specializing in Internet-based software applications and has helped bring to life systems that include online schools, network marketing systems and independent music sites. Later ventures include virtual stock trading platform OneSeason.com.

  • Setup automated build environment for building software on Linux (RHEL2-5), Solaris 8,9 & 10, WindowsXP, HPUX, MacOS & AIX.

  • Deployed EGS' proprietary trading system via Amazon's AWS.
  • Created custom AMIs (Amazon Machine Images) for EGS to rapidly deploy DBs, Trade Servers, Caching, and Web services.
  • Management of DNS, Mail Systems, IM (jabber), Web Servers, Load Balancers, and Databases, smart-relay hosts.
  • Setup and managed Asterisk phone system and conference bridge to provide IP-based phone (Aastra and Cisco) extensions and conference bridges for remote developers. (Including myself)

  • Built a small Linux network for TelcoPoint's VoIP application servers.
  • Implemented SIP Chat servers, DNS services, Oracle Database Server, Mail and Web services.
  • Wrote/Installed shell scripts for backups.
  • Implemented advanced kernel firewalls, (ipchains and iptables) and load balancing solutions, as well as a database driven Radius implementation for authenticating VoIP customers.
Matchmaker.com
Sr. Unix/Linux Administrator / Network Operations Manager
  • Grew network from 10 BSD/OS UNIX servers to 120 UNIX servers.
  • Converted BSDi UNIX servers to Redhat Linux and some to Solaris.
  • Managed 24/7 NOC Staff. Handling issues including system bugs, security issues, and fraud management.
  • Lead Administrator responsible for orchestrating technical strategies to attain higher computing performance standards.
